Kathryn Britten, partner at BDO Stoy Hayward and head of forensic accounting, has won the Woman of Achievement award in the accountancy category, sponsored by Accountancy Age.
The accolade is part of the Women in the City Achievement Awards, which recognise women who work in specific professional sectors, including accountancy, alternative investment, and financial and legal services.
Britten has been a supporter of working arrangements that promote a healthy work-life balance, and was key to the implementation of The Work Life Balance Challenge Fund project at BDO, which seeks to provide employees with increased career flexibility.
On winning the award, Britten acknowledged her colleagues for their support and encouragement, and emphasised the importance of female role models in the workplace. ‘I welcome initiatives that inspire others by raising awareness of the achievements and impact of women throughout business,’ she said.
Simon Michaels, managing partner of BDO Stoy Hayward, said the firm is elated with Britten’s honour. ‘We are proud that Kathryn is one of the leaders for women in the accountancy profession and we all congratulate her on winning this award,’ he said.
