New regulation hotlines, aimed at providing advice to companies across the country, could soon be rolled out in number of industries according to a senior government official.
Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform chief executive Jitinder Kohli told the Commons Regulatory Reform Commission that the government is interested in rolling out a series of regulation help lines if a pilot SME hotline, currently on trial, proves successful.
`If it does work then a number of other regulators…are thinking about whether it can be rolled out across the board,' he said.
Regulatory reform minister Ian Lucas described the project as an `absolutely critical area' at the hearing.
`We will be keeping a very close eye on it,' he said.
