Barter is alive and well and being fostered by the staff of Tenon in Nottingham.
A team from the from firm has successfully bartered a red paper clip for a bottle of champagne to a signed photo of England cricketer Brian Close and then to luxury night in a hotel.
The team is bartering for charity and is part of the Trade Aid project with proceeds going to the Prince's Trust.
Thisisbusiness-eastmidlands.co.uk reports the team - Lisa Sanders, Claire Lovell, Carl Swansbury and Philip Olagunji - has until 8 January to complete their trades.
