KPMG Forensic has parachuted in Nigel Layton, founder of the specialist corporate investigations company Quest, as a director in its Corporate Intelligence team.
Quest, set up by Layton in 1995 is probably best known for its work into the football bungs inquiry for the Premier League which centred on allegations of irregular payments surrounding certain football transfers.
Quest also conducted a separate Football Transfers Audit for the Football Association.
Layton spent eleven years at PriceWaterhouse where he worked in both the audit and corporate recovery functions and was a central figure in the investigations into the affairs of the late Robert Maxwell.
Steven Haynes, KPMG Forensic’s Head of Corporate Intelligence for Europe, Middle east and Africa, said: "We are delighted that someone with Nigel’s distinguished track record is joining our team."
"Corporate intelligence work is in high demand from clients given the prevailing climate where prospective deals and business partnerships, at home and abroad, need to be more carefully researched in advance than ever before."
Nigel Layton added: "I am delighted to be joining one of the leading forensic groups in the world. I look forward to working with KPMG’s corporate intelligence and other forensic colleagues to help grow the practice even further."
