Two of the UK's most well-known business software companies have ramped up efforts to provide business intelligence software to clients.
CedarOpenAccounts has acquired BI vendor Strata Systems and will integrate its software, while Coda has launched data analysis and reporting technology.
Strata's software is currently used by about 100 customers, including RAC, TNT and the Merseyside Police. The deal is COA's fifth acquisition, and MD Mark Thompson believes BI is a 'fast growth market' that will help the company expand.
'Our decision to acquire Strata Systems has been driven by customer demand and our product expansion plans,' said Thompson.
Coda has launched its new intelligence software, which extracts key data from transactional systems and stores it for analysis and reporting.
In addition, it has designed Coda-Analytic Explorer using Microsoft technology for online analysis and modelling. It provides key management and information users with data relevant to their function, giving them browsing, reporting and analysis capabilities.
