The preferred bidder, Glenisla Golf Centre, led by Hamish Somerville, secured the 18-hole course for an undisclosed sum last week.

Blair Nimmo, joint receiver, said: 'We are pleased to complete the sale of the business and assets of Glenisla - it is a beautiful course which has already received many accolades with excellent potential.'

Glenisla, which has seven employees plus 11 seasonal workers, went into receivership in May as part of the Glenshee Chairlift Company (GSC), which also incorporated the Glencoe and Glenshee ski resorts.

Glencoe was sold in June and the Joint Receivers said they soon expected to conclude discussions on the sale of the Glenshee, last remnant of the GSC.
