Accountancy Age is proud to present its first ever issue, published in December 1969, available to view via PDF.
Read about conflict of interest concerns between auditors and their clients, plus an insightful interview with ICAEW president and Peat Marwick Mitchell senior partner Ronald Leach.
'Looking back at our first issue highlights how much has changed in the last 40 years but, in terms of fundamentals, just how much has stayed the same,' said Accountancy Age editor-in-chief and publisher Damian Wild.
'With 2009 shaping up to be perhaps the most challenging year the profession has faced in our lifetime, Accountancy Age will continue to critique, cajole and celebrate the UK accountancy business and, hopefully, nudge its development in the right direction.'
Watch our recent 40th anniversary celebratory interview with our first editor, Bob Willott on Accountancy Age TV. Hear his anecdotes on producing the UK's first weekly accounting title, and his views of the profession in the 21st century. Click here to view the show.

40 Years!
Great to see the first copy of Accountancy Age.
I even remember receiving it.
Having printed it I wish it was possible to read it!
