Shire the FTSE 100 pharmaceutical company has said that it would take a substantial tax cut to lure them back to the UK from Ireland the Daily Telegraph reported.

The company recently moved to Ireland for tax purposes with chief executive Angus Russell admitting that although the company would keep the issue under constant review he did not think there was anything the government could do to tempt the company back.

'If you want to drop the tax rate to 5% we might be interested, [but] we are very happy with the decision we have taken' he added.
