Lastminute.com appoints new CFO

Stephen Gleadle becomes lastminute.com's new chief financial officer.

Travel and leisure website lastminute.com has appointed Stephen Gleadle as its new chief financial officer. He was also made a director of the online company with effect from 29 April 2005.

Gleadle, 46, has joined lastminute.com from IT company Synstar where he was group finance director and company secretary.

In a statement, lastminute.com said that his previous work at Synstar Gleadle 'improved the quality of financial decision making at all levels and oversaw the restructuring of the business, contributing significantly to its return to profitability and helping to rebuild City sentiment'.

Gleadle was previously group financial controller at Tarmac and has held a number of senior financial management positions with NFC and Mars confectionery.
