Infrastructure software giant CA moved a
step closer to fully integrating the technology it acquired from application
management specialist Wily earlier this
year, with the launch yesterday of a new version of its Introscope monitoring
suite featuring tighter integration with CA's existing Unicenter systems and
network management suite.
Wily Introscope version 7.1 provides functionality for monitoring and
optimising web applications, portals and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
CA said that enhanced integration with Unicenter would provide IT staff with a
single point from which to monitor and manage network, infrastructure and
application performance.
The new suite also includes enhanced reporting capabilities, including a new
DVD-R-like navigation feature that CA says will allow "customers to scroll
through detailed, time-coded replays of actual user-transactions and conduct
root-cause problem analysis".
Despite the enhanced integration with CA's Unicenter suite, the company said
Introscope will continue to integrate with rival management software systems,
such as IBM Tivoli and HP OpenView.
“Our customers can expect Wily Introscope to remain framework-independent
even as we develop innovative new management solutions and build strategic
points-of-integration to CA’s broader technology portfolio,” insisted Mike
Malloy, vice-president and chief marketing officer at CA’s Wily Technology
Division, in a statement.
