Oracle's long-running Fusion Applications project has yet to make an
impression on its user base, according to new research released this week to
coincide with this year's UK Oracle User
Group (OUG) Conference.
Of the 500-plus users surveyed, more than half said they were unaware of the
project, which aims to integrate technologies from PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and
Siebel Systems using open standards.
Of those that were aware, 68 percent said they were not considering an
upgrade to Fusion, however chairman of the user association, Ronan Miles, said
that that was because Fusion will not be fully available until 2008.
"More of a concern to me personally is why half of the user community seems
to be unaware of it," he explained. "This is something the user group will seek
to pedal harder on [to raise awareness] in the future."
