CA has launched a new version of its
Clarity IT governance system, which now
integrates with the software vendor’s support and change management tools to
improve the way firms control updates to their IT environments.
Clarity, which was acquired through the firm’s purchase of IT governance
specialist Niku last year, now integrates with Unicenter Service Desk and
AllFusion Harvest Change Manager. The announcement is part of CA’s Enterprise IT
Management (EITM) strategy to offer end-to-end IT management systems.
As part of the update, service desk calls will automatically link to the
Clarity system if a new project is needed to resolve problems. Clarity offers
demand management, portfolio management and resource planning tools, and
activities will also be carried out within the guidelines of the Change Manager
system.
CA said the integration of the products will help firms to ensure the best
use of IT resources, and follow standards and best practice methods such as the
IT Infrastructure Library (Itil) methodology for IT service management.
