BRITISH motor insurer Admiral Group has promoted Geraint Jones to chief financial officer and announced a small rise in first-half profits.
The owner of confused.com said Jones will take over from Kevin Chidwick with immediate effect. Chidwick will now focus on his role in the US as CEO of the group’s rapidly growing Elephant Auto Insurance business.
The announcement came as Admiral posted a 2% rise in pre-tax profit to £184.9m for the first six months to June.
Jones joined Admiral in 2002 and has since held a number of senior finance positions including head of finance, before being promoted to deputy CFO in January 2012.
He is an ICAEW fellow and worked as an external auditor at EY and KPMG.
Henry Engelhardt, CEO, commented: “Geraint has a deep understanding of Admiral’s business and culture, coupled with strong leadership and financial skills. I have no doubt that Geraint will make an important contribution to the success of Admiral in the coming years.”
