CENTRICA'S finance director Nick Luff has resigned to join the Anglo-Dutch publishing group Reed Elsevier in the same position.
Centrica, which own British Gas, said Luff would leave once a successor has been found, but no later than 31 December.
Luff, who has been Centrica's finance director since 2007, will replace Duncan Palmer at Reed Elsevier. Palmer announced his resignation in September last year, which the company attributed to unspecified family reasons.
Luff was previously CFO at FTSE shipping group P&O. He is a non-executive director at Lloyds Banking Group and has served as a non-executive at QinetiQ Group, the defence aerospace and security services company.
He qualified as chartered accountant with KPMG.
Centrica shares slipped 1% in morning trading on Tuesday. Reed Elsevier shares rose 0.28% in the same period.
