Intel Xeon Quad Core consolidated its leading position as best selling PC
server
processor in distribution in February, according to figures released today by
Context. The study covers the UK, French and German markets.
Xeon Quad Core's market share soared to 46 per cent in February, up from 44
per
cent and 36 per cent in January and December respectively. On the other hand the
Xeon Dual Core actually lost market share in February, achieving dropping from
36 per cent of the market (in the previous month) to 34 per cent. In third
position came the AMD Opteron Dual Core, with a 9 per cent share in February,
which is a three per cent drop from its high of 12 per cent in January, which
itself was a growth of two per cent on December.
