HP creates new specialisations

Vendor strengthens commitment to managed print space with three more certifications

Written by sara yirrell

HP claims that its latest printing specialisations will help VARs gain traction in the managed print space.

Last week HP released three new specialisations to its Preferred Partner Program (PPP): sales service, office printing and office printing solutions (CRN Online, 6 November).

The sales service specialisation is aimed at Preferred-level partners with proven expertise in HP services sales. The office printing and office printing solutions specialisations will form a new imaging and printing group office specialisation suite.

Dave Poskett, director of Solution Partner Organisation HP UK and Ireland, said: “This shows that we want to embrace the managed print service opportunity. The office printing and solution specialisation is noteworthy because we are trying to better understand our printing partners and how they sell solutions.”

Poskett said demand is growing for managed print, but HP and its partners still face a challenge.

“We and our partners have to work out how to best present the managed print proposition and how to take advantage of the technology.”
