Security vendor Panda has clinched a “groundbreaking” deal to supply retail behemoth Dixons Stores Group International (DSGI).
DSGI will tout the vendor’s home user and SME security software in its stores in 14 European countries, as well as in 27 countries on line.
Most critically, the deal breaks the monopoly McAfee and Symantec have traditionally enjoyed on PC World’s security software shelves.
Panda, which is owned by Alternative Investment Market-listed software vendor Formjet, argued its presence in DSGI would significantly boost its brand name in the UK and Europe.
David Johnson, head of International Buying Software at DSGI said in a statement: “Panda has proven award winning technology and is a welcome addition that helps broadens our range proposition.”
Tony Lee, chief executive of Formjet, stated: “We are delighted that Panda has won this order with such a high profile customer. DSGI will provide a high level of exposure for Panda’s products while this deal provides the perfect springboard to further grow the brand both in the UK and internationally.”
