Atos Origin revenue rose 8.5 per cent in 2007 €5.85bn (£4.36bn), despite losing €50m (£25.1m) from the termination of the NHS diagnostics contract and a €19m (£9.5m) decline from currency fluctuations.

Atos told investors they would have to wait until February 15 to hear profit figures.

The company's UK growth of 0.7 per cent to €1.04bn ($520m) in the UK was significantly behind the rest of Europe and the Americas.

Atos needs to integrate more to compete for pan-european and international contract, said Samad Masood, analyst at Ovum.

"The key challenge is in integrating the firm's various geographies and service lines so that they can support each other," he said.

"The lack of integration has held back consulting growth over the past year, particularly in the UK."
