Thomas Cook has signed a $400m (£192m) outsourcing contract with Accenture to provide infrastructure support over a 10-year period.

Under the terms of the deal, Accenture will deliver a range of back-office services to the travel operator, including network management, financial administration and SAP-based enterprise resource planning.

The deal builds on a previous arrangement from 2002 and will help Thomas Cook to integrate the services of package holiday firm MyTravel Group, following a merger in June this year.

“We are delighted to further extend our successful strategic outsourcing relationship with Accenture,” said Manny Fontenla-Novoa, joint chief executive of Thomas Cook Group.

“The relationship has and will continue to support our delivery of back- office operational excellence.”
