Microsoft has launched a scheme to
support the UK's software entrepreneurs through the provision of business advice
and technical support.
The Startup Accelerator Programme will give new businesses instruction in the
use of Microsoft platforms like Silverlight and Live Services.
Start-up companies joining the project will also be advised by Microsoft's
marketing division and will be invited to seminars on how to grow their
business.
“Software offers huge opportunities for new UK businesses, but even great
ideas and groundbreaking innovation are sometimes not enough to bring long term
success,” said Microsoft chief executiveSteve Ballmer.
“Through the technical and business support offered in this new Startup
Accelerator Programme we can help fledgling businesses realise their potential
and achieve success."
