IT directors keen to improve leadership skills

New diploma qualification fills all available places in just two months

Written by Lara Williams

A qualification for IT directors to improve their leadership skills has reached maximum subscription levels in just two months, reflecting the growing need for both business and technology skills.

The Diploma in Company Direction is jointly run by the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the British Computer Society (BCS), and is a response to the changing role of IT directors to incorporate business skills.

IoD professional developments consultant Alan Bayley said the maximum capacity of 20 IT directors has been filled for the October diploma intake.

‘We will most likely repeat the course in the spring next year as there is a growing need for IT professional leaders to widen their business knowledge,’ said Bayley.
