IT talks set for 2012 Olympics

Atos Origin will start planning as soon as possible

Written by Mark Samuels

Technology preparations for the 2012 Olympics are set to begin in the autumn when supplier Atos Origin plans to meet the London Organising Committee.

Patrick Adiba, executive vice president of Olympics and major events at Atos Origin, says the company will establish a timetable for the recruitment of IT professionals and the delivery of systems.

‘For every Olympic Games, preparations begin seven years in advance, when the host city is announced,’ he said.

‘Atos Origin is looking forward to working with the London Organising Committee to make the Games a success.’

IT professionals will start working full-time on the Games’ infrastructure in autumn 2008.
