It's ironic how sometimes things go full circle. And TS has heard one eerie story starring none other than the monocled, jodper-wearing former middleweight boxing champ Chris Eubank.
The enigma that is Eubank has turned to after-dinner speaking since the end of his career and has been knocking his public out by, erm, putting them to sleep after a nice meal. One of his recent gigs was at insolvency trade body R3's London dinner, where insolvency bods were reportedly not exactly riveted by the contents of Mr Eubank's oratory. Well, now it looks like Eubank will be facing IPs again, only this time on the other side of the creditors' negotiating table.
In a double irony, among Eubank's more valuable assets are former bankrupt Jonathan Aitken's cufflinks, which Louise Brittain of Baker Tilly sold to a jeweller, who in turn sold them on to Eubank. And to add to the tale of the twice-sold cufflinks, one of Eubank's creditors' advisers is none other than a certain no-nonsense bankruptcy specialist who acted for Aitken.
Spooky.
