Andersen: Is this the end?

The once mighty name of Andersen is facing its final destruction with the firm's defeat in court.

Andersen has been convicted by a Houston jury of obstruction of justice in relation to the shredding of documents pertaining to its former audit client Enron.

It will cease doing business as an auditor at the end of August 2002 and with most of the firm already sold off via mergers and other deals, its name should sink beneath the horizon in due course..
