Neil Jordan sues firm for breach of contract over ISTC investment
Film director Neil Jordan is suing accountancy firm Mazars for €750,000
following the collapse of Irish finance house International Securities Trading
Corporation two years ago with loses of more than €800m.
Jordan, whose directorial credits include The Crying Game, Mona Lisa and
Interview with the Vampire, is claiming “breach of contract” as he and his wife
Brenda did not want to invest in risky products.
He argues that he asked Mazars to invest a lump sun for three of his children
in a “conservative, low-risk product with a guaranteed return”, reports the
Times.
Mazars said it would defend the action “robustly”.
