Now in its third year, the highly sought after Best Use of Internet: Practice award has been won by Baker Tilly.

The mid-tier accountancy firm’s Revas service picked up the title following a dominant performance by rival Goodman Jones in previous years.

The accountancy firm developed its online software service, which has combined Software-as-a-Service methodology with the skills and resources available to a major firm. It sought to deliver a solution that is best described as a software-enabled service.

Clients using Revas could typically expect to see cost savings of between 15% and 40%.
The judges said Baker Tilly had ‘done what others have only talked about’. The site included a variety of online services such as accounting, payroll, payments and billing, corporate secretariat and composite reporting.

Another judge said ‘it was an outstanding entry, it uses established technology very nicely, it does something people want.’

The firm said it worked closely with clients and software providers to implement an application and reporting system that could deliver flexibility and efficiency gains, as well as offer new ways of working within the profession.

The judges added: ‘Its success can be measured by its incredible sales growth.’ Revas, which has only been in existence for two years, started to make a profit just 12 months after it was made available and is now growing at a rate of 80% per annum.

The firm battled against stiff competition in a shortlist of Danbro, Goodman Jones and SJD Accountancy.
