Friends Provident names female CFO

Life Insurer names Evelyn Bourke as its new CFO

Written by Rachael Singh

The search for a chief financial officer at Friends Provident is over thanks to the appointment of financial services veteran Evelyn Bourke.

Bourke, formerly at Standard Life UK Financial Services as CFO, has worked in financial services for years, having held senior finance roles in Standard Life and Chase de Vere Investments, the financial advisors to businesses. She has also worked for a stint as a consultant in the pensions industry as well as working for Tillinghamhast – Towers Perrin.

Bourke replaces Jim Smart who left the company earlier this year following abortive plans which would have seen Friends Provident merge with Resolution.

Charles Bellringer took on the top spot for an interim period and will continue whilst Bourke works a six month notice.
