KPMG has boosted its ranks with a partner from rival ‘big four’ PwC to run its Scottish pension business

KPMG has poached a new partner from rival firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to operate its pensions business in Scotland and is at the same time promoting two KPMG accountants to partner level.
Donald Fleming has been appointed head of pensions and will be responsible for spearheading the firm's expansion in this area, The Herald in Glasgow reports.
‘Donald's decision to join the firm from PricewaterhouseCoopers represents a real coup,’ Craig Anderson, head of KPMG in Scotland, said. ‘He brings with him significant experience and an enviable track record of helping Scottish businesses address pension-related issues. Donald has a remit to significantly grow the pensions team in Scotland and is already actively recruiting.’
The two new partners are Kevin Smith, a KPMG director of indirect tax, and Jenny Stewart, a former senior civil servant who joined the firm late last year after five years as Ernst & Young head of government services, who has been appointed to lead KPMG's public sector practice.
