Wolverine Tube cans Q2 results after finding accounting errors

American copper producer delays its second quarter results in the wake of inventory errors being uncovered

Wolverine Tube has had to delay the release of its second quarter results after finding accounting errors in its inventory numbers.

The US tubing manufacturer made the admission to the SEC at the end of last week in a document signed by David A Owen, Wolverine's CFO.

'The registrant discovered certain errors in previously issued financial statements while preparing its financial statements for the period ended 29 June 2008,' the US markets watchdog said.
