PwC hopes to find buyer for Cains soon

Administrators PwC are hoping to find a buyer for Liverpool brewer Cains within days

Written by AccountancyAge.com

Liverpool-based brewery and pub company Cains, which was placed in the hands of administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) last week, could have a buyer rescuing the business as early as next week.

PwC joint administrators David Chubb, Ian Green and Craig Livesey have been quick to speak to key suppliers, putting the brewery back in production within three days, while its 109 pubs, of which seven are tenanted and 102 managed, were also able to keep trading, according to thePublican.

Chubb is hoping to find a buyer, presumably to another drinks company, to take control within just a few days.

He said advertising for interested parties in the Financial Times at the end of the week should help set a timeline for positive offers as early as next week.
