Ex-finance boss of Barclays going 'back to his roots' after winning the top job at investment bank

Naguib Kheraj has been named as the new chief executive of JP Morgan Cazenove.

Kheraj was appointed chief executive of the investment banking giant today after turning his back on becoming an FD again 'any time soon', following his time at Barclays.

'This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to do after leaving Barclays,' Kheraj told the Guardian.

Kheraj worked at Salomon Brothers and Robert Fleming before he joined Barclays.

'I'm going back to my roots in the investment banking business, he said. '[JP Morgan Cazenove is] a fantastic franchise. If you want to be in this industry and be in London, this is a fantastic place to be.'
