Kingston Smith's Snyder awarded knighthood

The Queen's Birthday Honours List has named ICAEW member Michael Snyder a knight

Michael Snyder, the senior partner of Kingston Smith, has been awarded a knighthood on the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

The ICAEW member was given the accolade for his 'towering contribution to the City of London Corporation, ensuring that it is the world's leading international financial and business centre' a statement said.

Jane Scott Paul, chief executive of the Association of Accounting Technicians and CIPFA member was awarded an OBE for services to accountancy. She has held the CEO title since 1997 having previously been head of education and training at AAT.

CIPFA had a further three members named on the list. Tim Burr, controller and auditor general at the National Audit Office will take the accolade Companion of the Order of Bath.

Michael More, CEO of Westminster Council received a CBE for 'services to local government'. Vic Allison, deputy managing director of Wychavon District Council has been made OBE for 'services to Local Government and to the community of Worcestershire'.
