Hetherington crowned Shire CFO

Former CFO of Bacardi gets the nod at pharmaceutical giant after boardroom reshuffle

Graham Hetherington has been named as Shire's new CFO.

The company which recently shifted its tax base to Ireland said: 'The board of directors of Shire Limited announces today that Graham Hetherington will join the company as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Director on 1 July 2008.'

Hetherington, a CIMA fellow, has previously been employed in CFO
roles at Bacardi and Allied Domecq PLC.

Shire's current CFO Angus Russell will become CEO on 18 June and he will handle both roles until Hetherington takes up his position.

Russell said: 'Graham brings to Shire a track record of delivering good financial results combined with extensive strategy, M&A and corporate development expertise in the rapidly changing food and drink industry.'
