CODA has launched CODA2go today and hopes that the new online platform will help the company break into the smaller accountancy market.

CODA2go is an on-demand application that is available online and via the force.com ERP.

CEO of CODA and member of the management board at CODA's parent company Aggresso, Jeremy Roche, said: 'for small companies Sage is the only option really. Now there are more options and a sophisticated application'.

The software allows users to pay a monthly charge with no contracts, however, customers will be required to give at least one months notice.

'The application is matched to the cashflow of the system, you can always cut back on users if you hit hard times' said Roche.

The system is customisable and needs a browser and multi-tenancy technology which allows multiple users on one server.

'For us we will be able to get to a wider audience. Our market is at the higher end and now we can offer a complete accounting solution to organisations on a smaller scale,' said Roche.

Salesforce.com has had success in the past with its customer relationship management platform, also via Force.com, and users of the new CODA2go software will work via their already established application.

The first release will cover opportunity to cash processes with general ledger accounting, purchase to pay and sales order processing functionality will be available over the coming months.

The cost introduction is approximately $125-$150 (£63-£76) a user per month but will offer break downs later in the year.

Roche said: 'We want to do for finance what salesforce.com has done for CRM, and Software as a Service is a logical extension of CODA’s ‘open platform’ commitment'.
