COA buys HR specialist ASR Computers

Deal consolidates COA Solutions position as leading HR software provider

Written by Nicholas Neveling

COA Solutions, the accounting software group, has expanded its presence in the human resources software market with the acquisition of ASR Computers.

The deal is the ninth COA has closed in the last five years and will compliment earlier purchases of HR and payroll specialists OpenPeople, Goldenhill and Strata.

The deal places COA at the forefront of the HR software market in addition to its established presence in the business software arena.

'This is a very exciting acquisition that demonstrates our determination to sustain the rapid growth of COA Solutions in the UK HCM market, whilst continuing to be a force in the rapidly consolidating UK business software market,' COA Solutions MD Mark Thompson said.

ASR Computers has 400 customers within both the private and public sectors and its solutions cover the complete spectrum of HR requirements including personnel, training, recruitment, succession planning, self-service and workflow.

This software portfolio will add considerable breadth to COA Solutions’ Smart Business Suite, which comprises finance, human resource, payroll, procurement, business intelligence and document management solutions.
