Access snaps up Armstrong Consultants

Access pushes closer to £30m revenue goal with Armstrong acquisition

Written by Nicholas Neveling

Access Technology Group moved a step closer to its goal of generating £30m revenues by 2010 as it sealed a deal to purchase software specialist Armstrong Consultants.

Armstrong has established itself as a key supplier of Access software. Access said the 'business fit' with Armstrong was excellent and that no redundancies were planned following the deal.

'Our channel is an intrinsically important link with our customers. Armstrong Consultants has been one of the fastest growing companies we deal with and there are great synergies between the company and the Access Technology Group,' Access group MD Alistair O'Reilly.

Armstrong Consultants MD Chris Bayne said he was excited about working within Access as it had the 'same culture' as the one developed within Armstrong Consultants.

Access says it will continue to look for acquisitions following the Armstrong purchase. In addition to its 2010 revenue target, the group wants to become a £100m turnover business by 2017 and acquisitions are seen as a key part of hitting that target.
