Boyd to leave Drax

Gordon Boyd announces plans to leave FTSE 250 power company in the second half of 2008 to 'seek fresh challenges'

Drax's FD Gordon Boyd will be leaving within the next few months, the company has announced today.

Boyd said he will be stepping down from his position in the second half of 2008 to 'seek fresh challenges.'

The power generator appointed Boyd as FD in January 2005 and was a key part of the management team which oversaw the refinancing and listing of the company on the London Stock Exchange in December 2005.

Gordon Horsfield, chairman of Drax said: 'As our finance director [Gordon] has had
made a very significant contribution to the company. On behalf of the board, I
should like to thank him for his hard work and for his commitment. Gordon will leave with our very best wishes for his future.'

Boyd will remain with the company until later in the year to allow time for the search and selection of a suitable replacement, the company added.
