Scotland Yard will not investigate allegations against the London mayor’s aide of abuse of his position in relation to London Development Agency funding irregularities.

The police said it would not investigate the allegations against Ken Livingstone’s crime and equality advisor Lee Japser because there was a lack of evidence showing criminal activity, The Guardian reports.

‘To date there have been no criminal allegations reported to us in connection with this individual, but, as with anyone, should concerns arise out of the fraud investigation, or subsequent criminal allegations be reported to us, these will be considered and appropriate action taken,' a police spokesman said.

The London assembly, which is investigating 12 projects run by friends or alleged associates of Jasper, is scheduled to question Jasper on March 5.
