Adminstrators at Luton Town are kept busy as they strike a deal in an attempt to secure its future, then soon after sack the manager

Written by Kevin Reed

Luton Town's administrators have fired the club's manager Kevin Blackwell and his coaching staff, soon after announcing a potential sale deal.

Joint administrator Brendan Guilfoyle terminated the contracts of Blackwell and his staff. Guilfoyle had earlier announced that a deal would be struck with a consortium headed up by former TV-AM presenter Nick Owen.

The consortium, known as Luton Town 2020, has already provided a loan to help pay running costs.

Guilfoyle said the deal was 'the light at the end of the tunnel' that players, supporters and the club had been waiting for.
