The London Stock Exchange has appointed Doug Webb as its new CFO.

Webb is currently CFO at QinetiQ, the defence business spun out of the Ministry of Defence.

Prior to his time at Qinetiq, which he joined in 2003, Webb worked for Logica and spent 12 years with Price Waterhouse.

Chris Gibson-Smith, chairman of the LSE, said: 'We are delighted that Doug has agreed to take up the position of Chief Financial Officer at the enlarged London Stock Exchange Group.

'Doug brings with him a wealth of financial, operational and international experience, gained during a career working in senior positions for large multinational organisations. We believe that Doug will be a real asset to the Group, ensuring that it continues its record of financial leadership as it pursues its vision to be the world's capital market.'
