Insolvent tour operator puts 40,000 holidays at risk

Holidaymakers miss out on Christmas trips as tour operator enters insolvency

Written by Kevin Reed

Tens of thousands of holidaymakers will miss out on their holidays after a travel operator went into administration.

Travelscope has collapsed leaving as many as 40,000 holidaymakers' plans in ruin.

Partners from Menzies Corporate Restructuring were appointed as administrators after the tour company experienced cashflow difficulties.

As Travelscope is a member of ABTA and ATOL member the holidaymakers will be able to claim a full refund.

Around 270 jobs at the operator are at risk.

The company formed 15 years ago and most recently posted turnover of £80m.
