E&Y opens Libyan arm

Ernst & Young announces that it is the first among the Big Four to have a full member firm operating in Tripoli

Ernst & Young has expanded its Middle Eastern business by opening an office in Tripoli.

E&Y's Libyan division will form part of the Middle East regional practice and the Northern European, Middle East, Indian and African area of the firm.

Ahmed Al-Aiban, Chairman of Ernst & Young in the Middle East said: 'We are committed to anticipating and serving our clients’ needs wherever they are and Libya is a new promising growth market in the region. We are delighted that in establishing the Tripoli office we are the first of the Big Four to have a full member firm operating in Libya under our global brand.'

The move has been made to cater for the growing Libyan economy which is being spurred by growth in a number of sectors, include oil, gas and metal production.

The firm said: 'Ernst & Young, one of the world’s leading professional services firms and the market leader in the Middle East, is delighted to announce the opening of its new office in Tripoli. This move highlights the firm’s commitment to the economic expansion and vitality of the new and open Libyan economy.'
