Connolly wins sustainable development trustee role

Deloitte's global chairman John Connolly becomes trustee of International Business Leaders Forum, which advises private sector businesses on sustainable development

Written by David Jetuah

Deloitte UK’s chief executive and senior partner has become a trustee of the International Business Leaders Forum.

John Connolly was drafted onto the IBLF board, which counts senior private sector leaders as members.

The trustees advise the IBLF, an independent, not-for-profit organisation currently supported by over 100 of the world’s leading businesses, on achieving its mission of putting business at the heart of sustainable development.

Connolly said, 'I’m delighted to join the IBLF Board which works with business, governments and civil society to enhance the contribution that companies can make to sustainable development. As a responsible business, Deloitte in the UK and across member firms around the world, is already playing its part to enhance the communities in which our people work and live – keeping focused on the challenges of globalisation will continue to be a focus for me in this new role.'

Since 1990, and with the support of IBLF President, HRH The Prince of Wales, the forum has provided strategic advice to businesses in more than 90 countries.
