BDO to advise billionaire on Arsenal play

Firm called in by second-biggest shareholder

Written by AccountancyAge.com

Mid-tier firm BDO Stoy Hayward has been asked by Alisher Usmanov, the Russian billionaire, to advise him on his stake in Arsenal Football Club, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Usmanov currently has a 14.58% shareholding in Arsenal through his investment vehicle, Red and White Holdings.

He is the second-biggest shareholder in the London club after splashing out £75m to buy the shareholding of David Dein, the former Arsenal vice-chairman, who was ousted in a boardroom power struggle earlier this year.
