RSM Bentley Jennison eyeing top seven UK spot

Managing partner Tony Stockdale sets out ambitious plan to leapfrog rivals, with the backing of RSM's global network

RSM Bentley Jennison is aiming for a top seven ranking among the UK's accountancy powerhouses as a result of its membership of RSM's global network.

'We are looking at number seven spot in the future,' said managing partner Tony Stockdale. 'We've been doubling in size every four years and we expect that rate of growth to continue.'

Bentley Jennison's boss said that the firm's current fee income was already 10% above the £63.7m it generated last year. He said the company would achieve its long-term targets by focussing on risk management and internal audit services for private clients, working with public sector organisations and having a special emphasis on quoted corporates.

Stockdale said the ability to offer global coverage to large international quoted companies was a main driver for the deal.

'We don't have to change our strategy, because it overlaps incredibly well with RSM International's,' he said. 'They wanted a member firm which was strong in delivering risk management services and this will enable us to achieve our strategy faster. To become a part of the seventh largest accounting network in the world is tremendous.'
