Management consultant company, Bain, called in to help make BP's structure more efficient

BP has called in management consultants to look at ways of simplifying the company's structure, as the oil giant looks to become more efficient.

Consultants from Bain will look into BP's structure, gathering information and reporting back to its client in November, reports the FT .

'Many of you will agree that complexity has often reduced BP’s efficiency and diluted our focus on delivery of the core business,' Kenny Lang, senior vice-president of BP’s Gulf of Mexico operations, told staff in an email.
