Arrests have been made in an investigation into a multi-million pound carousel fraud ring.
An 18-month investigation led to 10 arrests, known as Operation Varlet, during a dawn raid by HMRC officers.
Those arrested were suspected of being part of a ring fraudulently trading in mobile phones, buying them VAT-free from the continent then defaulting without paying VAT owed to HMRC.
The arrests were made in Stoke on Trent, Birmingham, Slough, Maidenhead, Uxbridge, Rickmansworth, Bushey and Hanworth.
