Accenture profits rise on strong demand

Global consulting group Accenture Ltd has revealed a healthy rise in quarterly profits which it attributed to strong demand for its consulting services.

Net income for the third quarter ended 31 May climbed to $345.4m (£170m), or 54 cents per share, from $342.3m, Revenue excluding reimbursements to clients advanced to $5.08bn (£2.5bn) from $4.41bn (£2.7bn).

Consulting bookings, an indicator of future revenue, rose to a quarterly record of $3.5bn in the most recently completed quarter. Outsourcing bookings were $2.72 billion.
