Finance boss of shipbuilding and support services company, VT Group, to leave for personal reasons but pledges to stay until a replacement has been secured

VT Group has announced his
resignation on personal grounds.
The company, a leading supplier of ships to the Royal Navy and navies around
the world, said: ‘VT Group plc, the support services and shipbuilding company,
today announces that Chris Rickard, group finance director has decided, due to
personal reasons, that he will resign from the board and leave the Group when a
replacement has been identified.’
Commenting on the announcement, Paul Lester, chief executive of VT Group
said: ‘We would like to thank Chris Rickard for his contribution to the company
over the past year and wish him well in the future.’
Before taking up his current position, Rickard was Group FD of
The Weir Group and prior to
that finance chief of Meggitt PLC an international aerospace, defence and
electronics group. He also worked in New Zealand for two years with
PricewaterhouseCoopers.
VT added: ‘A search for Mr. Rickard’s replacement is underway.’
