Michael Izza's appointment as chief executive of the ICAEW could be a make or break decision for Moorgate Place. The institute is under increasing commercial and competitive pressure and needs to deliver in the coming months and years if it is to remain the premier UK institute.
After identifying Izza's main challenges in last week's edition, in this special video broadcast Accountancy Age journalists ask whether he will be able to turn the corner, win back support from grass roots members and whether there is any chance of another merger attempt coming off.
Accountancy Age editor Gavin Hinks quizzes news editor Alex Hawkes and editor in chief Damian Wild – who has been covering the institute's merger efforts since 1994 – on the prospects for the new man at the top.
This is the first in a series of Accountancy Age TV weekly news magazine programmes for accountants entitled The Big Question.
